Hunger Moon

The Hunger Moon

Across the fields of snow,
The hunger moon shone bright.
The foal and bear in battle met.
The bear it lost the fight.
We didn’t know as we retired,
Upon our lives there came a blight.
That as we slept a darkness came,
A darkness that outlasts the night.
Tonight I wait for you beneath the sky.
The hunter guards your soul from view.
Behind his sword there is a star.
I’ll see you when my life is through.

A poem I will never explain. May God have mercy on us all.
